Master Hongyi has practiced Tai Chi Chuan for more than 35 years. She first learned Yang (杨) style Tai Chi Chuan (traditional form) in an intensive Tai Chi Chuan seminar. She then learned Wu (吴) Style Tai Chi Chuan (traditional form) from Master Liang Shan, a history professor at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China. Master Liang's teacher was Master Yongqian Liu (刘永谦). Master Liu was a disciple of Wu style Tai Chi Master Gongzao Wu (吴公藻). Master Gongzao Wu's father, Jianquan Wu (吴鉴泉), was a famous teacher and founder of Wu(吴) style Tai Chi Chuan in late Imperial and early Republican China. In the past decade, she has been devoted to promoting wellness and active living in communities. She teaches several Tai Chi and Qi Gong Adult Wellness Programs locally in Minnesota.

They will be just back from the Willie Clancy summer school for traditional music in County Clare, Ireland, so expect some jigs and reels as well.

After 5 Vocal Ensemble- Jazz, Swing and Blues
After 5 is a vocal ensemble performing jazz, swing, and blues with tight vocal harmonies, keys, violin, saxophone, and flute. After 5 started in 1993 by Diana Scheff, an accomplished vocalist, arranger and conductor. Named, After 5, as the musicians all held 9-5 jobs… music happened After 5. Performances through the years include summer concert series, corporate events, festivals, parties, professional sporting events, church functions, coffee shops and patio concerts. After 5 received grants through the Metropolitan Regional Art Council to sing for groups that had less access to the arts. After 5 continues this outreach today.

After School Special- Rock/Pop/Classic Covers
After School Special first formed several years ago through a larger rock band they are in called “The Jehms.” Jill and Julie are teachers and Sitara is a pharmacist/teacher, hence the band’s name. Their sets include covers from rock, pop, country and classic acoustic. They have performed in wine bars, community festivals and other venues, and are available for private parties and receptions.

Yana and Peter- Jazz Duo
Yana Reko is a longtime lover of crunchy chords and smooth jazz, the sweet nostalgia of musical theater and the spicy rhythms of bossa nova. In addition to her duet with Peter Crist, Yana also performs throughout the Twin Cities with KAYR Tones, Accent Deluxe, and Mixed Company Singers.
Peter Crist is a Madison native where in the 1970’s he studied with a protege of the solo jazz guitar master George Van Eps. He covers jazz standards with occasional blues and bossa nova flavors.

The Smallweeds- Residency MUSICIANS
The Smallweeds are Jim Walsh (guitar and vocals), Grace Walsh (guitar, vocals, drums and keys) and Bob Tipping (accordion). They play a mix of originals and covers in the indie folk/singer-songwriter tradition. Think artists like Wilco, Mazzy Star, Tom Waits and John Prine.
The Smallweeds have a music residency at Showtime, performing every 4th Sunday of the month from 3-5 pm.
Lady J.- Songs of Soul
High Priestess of the Blues, Jacquie ‘Lady J.’ Maddix, recipient of the AMPERS 2026 Jo McMullen Boyer Radio Broadcaster of the Year Award, performs songs of the soul!
Lady J. is a 30 year veteran radio and television producer and author who has explored the roots of the blues on stage and in performance. She was inducted into the 2015 Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame, Jacquie Maddix and her band “Lady J Griot & Her Root Doctors” work Root Wisdom from the Elders Circle.
On her KFAI radio show, Songs of the Soul (formerly Rollin & Tumblin), Lady J keeps the heritage alive, weaving history, ancestral magic, and the spiritual roots of the Blues into a rich tapestry of songs, interviews, and live in-studio performances. Listen to her show every Tuesday 4-6 pm.

Casey Frensz- Multi-Instrumentalist- Residency Musician- Every 4th Saturday of the Month
Casey Frensz is an expert multi-instrumentalist, producer, and music educator with a passion for soulful songwriting and performance. You may have seen him playing saxophone, guitar, drums, bass, or keyboards with local bands like The Brother Jon Band, Alexander Craig and the Lifters, or Trent Romens Band! Casey's songwriting is personal and rich, drawing from the traditions of folk and blues music.
Casey is part of Showtime’s musician residency and performs every 4th Saturday of the month from 1-3pm.

Tai Chi
Join us for Tai Chi every Saturday morning 8-9am starting November 1st. Lead by Master Hongyi.
Master Hongyi has practiced Tai Chi Chuan for more than 35 years. She first learned Yang (杨) style Tai Chi Chuan (traditional form) in an intensive Tai Chi Chuan seminar. She then learned Wu (吴) Style Tai Chi Chuan (traditional form) from Master Liang Shan, a history professor at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, China. Master Liang's teacher was Master Yongqian Liu (刘永谦). Master Liu was a disciple of Wu style Tai Chi Master Gongzao Wu (吴公藻). Master Gongzao Wu's father, Jianquan Wu (吴鉴泉), was a famous teacher and founder of Wu(吴) style Tai Chi Chuan in late Imperial and early Republican China. In the past decade, she has been devoted to promoting wellness and active living in communities. She teaches several Tai Chi and Qi Gong Adult Wellness Programs locally in Minnesota.

Joseph Walker is a South American–born, Twin Cities–based singer/songwriter whose original compositions and magnetic live performances have made him a rising force in the Midwest music scene. Raised across Colombia, Venezuela, and Brazil, Joseph weaves English, Spanish, and Portuguese into a soulful blend of folk, funk, and Latino roots—delivered with the immediacy of a modern looping act and the heart of a storyteller.
Performing solo, as a duo with his brother Jay, or with their acclaimed six-piece Walker Brothers Band, Joseph brings a vibrant, genre-fluid sound that feels both worldly and deeply personal. In 2026 he debuts Sonidos de mi Tierra, a dynamic show celebrating his South American heritage through native instruments, multilingual songwriting, and the rhythmic spirit that shaped his life.
