Fiddle Tune jam- Slow/Medium/Fast

Playing Bluegrass and Old Time ‘fiddle tunes’ at a slow tempo, then medium tempo, then fast tempo to build familiarity and fluidity and increasing speeds

Fiddle tunes are played as a group to learn and develop proficiency playing an expanding repertoire of Old-Time and Bluegrass fiddle tunes. The process focuses on active listening for melody, chords and rhythm; developing variations; discovering methods to learn unfamiliar tunes; developing confidence to play melodies together and as a solo; and having fun as we increase the tempo.

All string instruments: fiddle, guitar, mandolin, banjo, dulcimer, cello and bass players unite!

The group focuses on one to two “new” tunes each week for the first hour and playing tunes from the expanding repertoire during the second hour. Meets weekly on Tuesdays from 1-3pm. Lead by Dan Soneson.
